Spending weekends at home, watching a good movie, is one of my favorite ways to unwind, especially during my period. On those days, the emotional wear can be noticeable, and I often feel fatigued. It’s common to seek something that alleviates that anxiety. While many women turn to ice cream, chocolates, cookies… I do too, but first, a juicy burger!
There’s nothing like enjoying a well-prepared burger in those moments. The combination of fat and flavor really makes me feel good and helps ease the anxiety. It has become my comfort food, perfect for those days when food turns into a refuge.
This recipe is designed for four people, so while it’s one of my special meals, it’s also ideal for sharing.

Ingredients:
• For the burger:
• 500g ground beef
• 500g ground pork
• 1 tablespoon ground cumin
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons mustard
• 1/2 cup beer
• For the toppings:
• 4 slices of Dutch cheese
• 4 slices of Gouda cheese
• 1 large tomato, sliced
• 1 onion, sliced
• 4 lettuce leaves
• Pickles
• For the buns:
• 4 hamburger buns
Instructions:
1. Marinate the meat: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, cumin, minced garlic, salt, mustard, and beer. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated. Cover and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

2. Caramelize the onion: In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and the sliced onion. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes soft and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

3. Form the patties: Once the meat has marinated, divide it into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center.
4. Cook the patties: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Dutch cheese and a slice of Gouda cheese on top of each patty to melt.

5. Assemble the burgers: On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and pickles. On the top half of the bun, add the caramelized onion.

6. Serve: Put the buns together and serve with your favorite sauces. I recommend pairing these burgers with spicy mayo, garlic aioli, or a tangy barbecue sauce for an extra kick.
